I know this is a quiet time of the year when we’re all enjoying the summer holidays with our families and loved ones, and I certainly hope you’re enjoying yours with a well deserved rest.
There’s never an ideal time, or perfect moment to say this, so I’ll simply dive in head first with a sort of ‘farewell’ – for now.
I launched Work Your Way in 2011 as a print magazine for freelance and self-employed parents, with this blog running alongside it.
I had, until that point, been freelancing on and off since 2001 shortly after my eldest Alex was born, and had come across other mums who were experiencing the challenges of freelancing with kids in tow, just like me.
I successfully got the magazine into selected branches of Sainsbury and family friendly centres, which quickly helped Work Your Way to become a community of like-minded freelancers, sole traders, consultants and mumpreneurs galore. We all came together to swap stories of juggling the demands of self-employment with family life, as well as give tips on how to do it successfully.
Now here I am in 2015 not surprisingly, having experienced so much since first starting out as a Freelancer in 2001, with so much more to give.
I love that my career has more recently evolved into coaching and mentoring others in business, and I love that I can help them break through their business dilemmas, to become unstuck and move forward.
Working with people who are serious about making changes in their lives in this way, has been deeply fulfilling, inspiring and at times even humbling.
But I’ve love to embrace more than just the usual ‘business dilemmas’.
I’d love to explore more about the creative flow. Achieving it, harnessing it, living and working in it – in your bliss. The intentional crafting of your life’s purposes from the get go, when you’re unsure as to where or how to start.
It’s why I’ve decided to change direction with the blog, so that I can blog more freely on all the themes I’ve mentioned above – not just the business of business.
So I’ll be taking a short break (from the blog only – I’ll still be working and freelancing in the background. Bills need to be paid 🙂 ) so that I can completely overhaul this blog and start afresh with the new theme of “Helping Your Find Your Work Sweet Spot”.
Stay happy, keep well and I’ll see you again when the blog is back up and running. In the meantime, you can still keep in touch with me here.
