“Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.” Carl Sandburg (1878 – 1967)
Be careful how you spend your time! How many times have you heard that?
But it’s something you can easily forget when you’re in the early stages of running your own gig. There’s so much stuff to handle, only so many hours in the day, and only one of you.
If you’re not careful, you can end up either, frittering the day away on tasks that are unimportant (constantly checking your social media profiles/email inbox), or wasting your time with something that you’re simply not capable of tackling yourself. (I can’t tell you how many hours I used to waste on trying to fix my WordPress myself).
I’m a big fan of outsourcing tasks wherever possible. Here’s a post from the archives ‘Why Hire a Virtual Assistant’.
Outsourcing to a VA means you focus on doing the work that you do best. Equally, or perhaps more importantly, it means that you focus on doing what you most enjoy.
Let’s face it, life’s too short to be doing work that you hate or drains your energy.
If you’re not yet outsourcing to a VA, here’s an Infographic courtesy of MyTasker.com with “12 Tasks you can Outsource to a Virtual Assistant”.
If you already outsource to a VA, is there anything else you’d add to the list?
